'Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee'
(Psalm 88:9).

King Solomon, one of he wisest man that ever lived, said "Nothing is new under the sun". Affliction comes in all shape and  form. It comes from within us and from external forces. Sometimes it might even seems like we are being afflicted by God. These afflictions may bring tears, sorrow, sufferings, feelings of persecution and also of joy. The Psalmist affliction was so great that He cried out day and night before God. His soul was full of troubles and he felt like death was upon him. In his despair his voice cried and his eyes wept; he said, "Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction." His affliction didn't stop him from crying out to God in prayer, his heart felt broken as he wept with out stretched hands to God. Have you ever experienced such affliction or anguish, which led you to cry out in prayer to God, like the Psalmist? Tears, we are told are a language which tells untold stories. When we are in a spiritual battle and need deliverance, we must come to Christ, allowing our tears and prayers to mingle as we reach for Him. We see Christ, in his anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the Cross prayed for himself; for his friends; his enemies; his disciples;  and all of us who would one day believed in him through his disciples and apostles. Like Job, we sometimes cannot understand our afflictions and have to cry out to God for help. At times our affliction can be so great that it overwhelm us. Some may become fearful and distress, wondering where God is in all of their sufferings and troubles. Others may be rejoicing in their affliction with the knowledge that God is present with them in their sufferings and they deemed it a privilege to endure these afflictions; especially if they are pertaining to their salvation. Sometimes it might feel that God is silent and doesn't hear us, but you have to trust that He is right there with you, as He has promised, working behind the scenes for your good and His purpose. So cry out to Him, stretched forth your hands and daily pray, for your help comes from Him. He will never let you down or disappoint you. Look to Jesus for all things and believe He will come through for you.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12). The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach   boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily an...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
