'Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful' (Luke 6:36).

As human beings our natural inclination is to judge one another. We tend not to look at our imperfections, but eager to correct others, because we are inherently selfish. Scripture teaches that we should not judge others or the same judgement will be meted out to us. God is our Judge, and if He is merciful, we too should show mercy to those we tend to judge.  Jesus is our example, and we ought to follow Him, walking in the way God desires us to walk. He is merciful and we are admonished to be merciful as our Father in heaven is merciful. That means we should be sympathetic, compassionate, forgiving, be tender- hearted, show empathy towards other; being merciful in the same way our Father has shown mercy to us. We need to truly imitate Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us, enabling us to show mercy to others. We will reflect the character of God when we walk in spirit and in truth - being merciful, holy and perfect as our Father is. We cannot show mercy in our own strength. It is only through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit and living a life in Christ that we are able to be merciful, as our Father in heaven is merciful. We have to truly die to self and submit our will and our life to God, as we allow the Spirit to lead us.  We cannot expect mercy from God, if we never show mercy; in the same way we do not expect to be forgiven if we never forgive others. We can show mercy by forgiving those who cause us harm and distress. We can show mercy by showing loving kindness to others. We must endeavour to do good to all around us - not only some people. Let us not be weary in doing good, but be patient with each other, persevere and show acts of humility, as we seek to be like Christ.

Have a wonderful day🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
