'To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, thou we have rebelled against him' (Daniel 9:9).

It was in heaven that Lucifer (Satan) and his angels rebelled against God and his government, before being cast out of heaven. Our foreparents, Adam and Eve were tempted by the serpent (Satan) to eat of the forbidden fruit God told them not to eat of. Their disobedience led to their fall and the entrance of sin. As a result all descendants of Adam had a sin problem, that only God could fix. So He came down to earth in the person of His Son Jesus, to die for us and restore us to Himself. We see God's people since the fall, been rebellious time and time again. Daniel seeing the rebellion of God's people could have complained, but instead he prayed and confessed on their behalf to God, saying, "To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, thou we have sinned against him."
We too have sinned and rebell against God...and God is still merciful and forgiving. He never changes! He will absolutely pardon all who come to Him with a broken and contrite heart, and grants forgiveness of all our trespasses. Isn't God amazing! Even when we rebelled against him, there is mercy with the Lord, and forgiveness with him. From His goodness flows his mercies, and from his mercies, forgiveness. Mercies and forgiveness  belong to the Lord, and are attributes of his nature and he only can grant pardon. When we sin against God we deserve only death, and have forfeited all claims to his favour. However, when we come before God with a humbled spirit, and lowly heart, confessing our sins and iniquities; He who is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from our unrighteousness, extend his mercies and the riches of his grace towards us. It is only by his mercies that we are not consumed. We have no other hope left but the mercies of God. Let us refrain from rebelling against God. But if we sin, be thankful that we have an advocate in Jesus Christ our Lord. Let us rest our hope of pardoning on the premise of the mercies of God and that our confession be sincere and specific. Our prayers are leveraged when we come humbly and lowly to our Father, God. Let our prayers of confession be like David's, recognising that all mercies and forgiveness belongs to the Lord, thou we rebel against him.

Ha e a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
