'And this commandment have we from him, That we who loveth God love his brother also' (1 John 4:21).

When we say we love God, shouldn't we love our brother too? One cannot go without the other. God's command to us is to love him wholeheartedly and to love others as we love ourselves. God is love, and has manifested his love towards us the Person and work of his Son, Jesus Christ. As believers we are commanded to love others, as God loves us. It is very important, that those who love God should indeed love their brother! One cannot say I love God, then hate his brother. The Bible states that such a person is a liar. The sin in us does not allow us to have love naturally, in our own human capacity; but when we are born of God, the Holy Spirit will manifest the love of God within us, enabling us to love others as Christ loves us. It is God who works in us to do his good will in order to fulfil his good purpose. When we are walking in spirit and truth, Christ will abide in us and his love is perfected in allowing us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of him. We therefore cannot do this in our own strength, we need Christ to abide in us and the Holy Spirit to work upon our hearts and transform us, so we can truly love like Christ loved.  We are all called to give our lives to God,  and be empowered through the Holy Spirit to obey God and do his will; to accept his gift of salvation through our faith in Christ, that we can have eternal life. Let us through the power of the Holy Spirit, live our lives by faith in Christ and not through works of the flesh, that we can have  fellowship with God, and receive the grace and power given by him to loves others as Christ loves us. Let us carry out this command we have received from him, that we who love God will love our brother also.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...
