Devotional - 19th May 2021

 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness' (Isaiah 41:10).

Fear is not of God but of the Devil. He is the true instigator of fear, because he loves when we are afraid, making us subject to him. His aim is for us to take our eyes off Jesus, so we mistrust him. We see in the Scriptures, when Peter was walking on water towards Jesus with his eyes on him, that he had confidence in the presence of Jesus, but when the winds got boisterous and he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. That's what the Devil wants us to do; to take our eyes off Jesus that we will be in constant fear. However, God is saying to you, "Look at me! Fear not - don't be afraid or scared, my presence is with you and will always be with you." He is encouraging you not to be dismayed or distress. Why? Because He is your God and he will strengthen you, and help you. Why not take God at his Word? We must trust the Word of God, so we can learn to please him. God knows and understands that we would struggle with fear and he cares about every fear we face each day. Our worries, anxieties, doubts, disappointments, discouragements and uncertainties. God is our stronghold and He send the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter in our times of need. He is reassuring us that we do not have to fear, for he will strengthen all those who trust in Him. Paul alluded to the fact that Christ strength is made perfect in our weakness. His strength is sufficient for us so we need not fear, and he is also our ever-present help in times of trouble. God's righteousness right hand is outstretched to embrace and comfort us at all times. When we seek to put our trust in God, we will never be afraid because we know Christ grace is sufficient for all our needs. Let us trust in the promises of God which are true and sure. If we have fears, we should acknowledge them and turn them over to Jesus. We need to trust God more, instead of our current situations, because they are not bigger than our God.   Trust in the All-sufficient God and allow him to take you by the hand and lead you.

Devotional - 14th July 2020

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. Devotional - 14th Aug 2020

 'Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength' (Isaiah 26:4). In a time where there is so much confusion and uncertainty, God is calling us to trust Him always. He is our everlasting strength - the Rock of all ages, Jesus Christ our Lord. He is our refuge and strength in every trial we face and our everlasting Rock in every raging storms of our lives. He is our peace in the midst of perplexity and our Fortress in times of trouble who will cause all things to work together for good.
