'And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers ' (John 10:5).

Jesus the Lamb of God, who came to take away the sins of the world, is also the Good Shepherd. A sheep knows his master's voice and will follow only him at his calling. If they do not recognise the voice as that of their master, they will not follow that stranger, but will flee from him. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and all who belong to him will know his voice and follow Him. Are you attune to the voice of Jesus? Christ here is alluding to the fact, that, if you cannot recognise his voice, is because you are not of him, but of another - the Devil. "He that is of God heareth God's words: Ye therefore hear him not, because ye are not of God" (John 8:47).
The religious leaders in Jesus' time didn't believe He was of God, the Son of God; the Messiah who came to save the world. This denial came with great consequences for the Jews. They rejected the Light and as a result the the Gospel was given to the Gentiles to take to the world. We must understand that there is no other way to be saved and enter into heaven but by the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus' death and resurrection gives us his sheep, access to the Father and eternity with him. We must believe that it is through grace by faith in Jesus, that we will be saved and nothing else.  Therefore, if we choose to follow any other shepherd it shall be to our own demise. We should seek to know the voice of the true Shepherd and train ourselves to recognise him, and in so doing, will trust and follow Him because we know He loves and cares for us. Let us daily listen to the voice of Jesus as he speaks to us, that we will not fail to recognise his voice, but will glady follow Him wherever he leads us. All are invited to be a sheep of the true Shepherd, so they may have eternal life with him. Choose this day to hear and know His voice and to follow Him.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
