'What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace' (Romans 6:15).

Sin has enslaved us, but Christ came and died for us that it shall not have dominion over us. As believers, we were once under the law, but are no more; we are now under grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is God's grace that have set us free from the law, and of such, we should refrain from sinning. We must not take lightly God's grace and forgiveness by indulging in our sinful desires. The freedom Christ has given us from sin, should lead us to resist and reject those desires and obey righteousness in Christ. The consequences of sin lead to death, but the gift of God through Christ is eternal life. All who believe in Christ, first came to him by faith. We die to sin and are no longer a slave to sin. We therefore, should serve righteousness instead of sin, accepting the free gift of God by faith in Christ Jesus, so we can become more and more like Him. We have to realise that all who were baptised unto Christ Jesus were baptised into his death and must seek by the grace of God not to live in sin any longer, but strive to be like Jesus. Paul wants us to understand that whosoever we are slave of, will be the one whom we will obey. We are either slave to sin or slave to righteousness. We are not free to live as we choose, but to live according to the will of God. We must denounce being slave to sin and become slave to Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Take time to reflect, as to whose slave you are: sin or Christ? Let us as a slave to Christ, completely submit and give total obedience to him, the Master of our lives. It will be good to remember, we were bought with a price by the Lord Jesus Christ and are owned by him. At the cross He bought us and now control and govern us. We were His by creation and now by His shed blood He has reclaimed us, as we come to Him receiving the free gift of God. Let us resist sin and seek righteousness, so we can spend eternity with Christ.

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
