'...Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand' (Matthew 3:2).

John the Baptist was calling to repentance the Jewish nation in his day. He was sent by God to prepare the way for Jesus's ministry on earth.  Today, the same call is given to the world to repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand. We are called to confess our sins and submit to the will of God. Turning from sin is necessary for each of us, in order to gain eternal life with Christ. The Jewish people were looking for a physical kingdom, wherein the coming Messiah would overthrow the Romans and establish peace and prosperity in their nation. This misconception led them to reject Christ as the Messiah and Son of God. However, the kingdom of God then was a more spiritual one, where Christ would begin to rule on earth by ruling in the hearts of those who choose to follow Him. Jesus came down from heaven, ministered to all people, died on the cross, rose and ascend to heaven, where he is interceding on our behalf, before the Father. One day He will return to this earth as the King of kings, Lord of lords to claim all those who accepted, believed and obeyed Him. There are some people who are like the Jews; they have hardened their hearts, blocked their ears and blind their eyes, turning to their ungodly ways. They believe Christ is just a prophet, not the Son of God who died for them. The cry is still the same, turn from your ungodly ways and return to the Lord your God, purify your heart and repent. Let us not miss the glorious opportunity of eternity with Jesus. All who are saved by grace through faith in Christ must stay true to Christ who has secure their salvation by his precious blood. He will return with great power and glory to claim His Kingdom and his faithful people and destroy sin and Satan forever. Those who fail to repent and accept His righteousness, will have no place in the earth made new. Let us heed the call to repent and return to God, because Jesus is coming soon!

Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
