'Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work' (2 Thessalonians 2:17).

The world is in turmoil, men's hearts are failing them for fear, even in the midst of a deadly pandemic, political and religious wars. Some people still do not believe that Jesus exist or that he is coming back soon. But He is! We have to pray earnestly to God the Father and God the Son to comfort and strengthen our hearts. The Thessalonians had many trials which caused them to be overwhelmed, so they needed God's strength to stabilise them and live out their faith in words and deeds that would bring honour to him. As believers,  God  has given us the power to  face our trials with great confidence in Him;  to be able to encourage one another by speaking kind words and carrying out good deeds.  This is the time when we need to earnestly pray for each other that the Lord will encourage our hearts and establish us in every work and in all we say. Let us take the time to read, learn and digest the Word of God, that we like the Thessalonians, may be comforted and encouraged by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We need to be established in the love of God and seek comfort in the arms of Christ, our solid foundation, that we may never be removed, but stand steadfast and firm in our trials. It is not enough that we believe the truth, but we must also love the truth. The Truth is Jesus Christ,  our Lord. Let us learn all we can from the Master Teacher and be stablish in every good word and work.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah' (Exodus 15:23). The Isralites were on a high after the Red Sea experience and their deliverance from slavery in Egypt and Pharaoh's army. The Lord led them this way become He wanted them to realise that He was their God, their Deliverer, and their Protector. The people  murmured against Moses and God, but the Lord showed them that He was still willing to guide and protect them and be their Healer, if they would look to Him. When they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters because they were bitter, so they murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink" (verse 24)? Sometimes  things happened to us in life, and we become very bitter and callous. It may be family issues; a friendship gone sour; conflicts; marriage broken down; sickness or even the death of a love one. But we need to guard against bitterness cree...

'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12). The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach   boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily an...
