'The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him'
(Nahum 1:7).

The city of Nineveh was an evil city and once again come into the  Judgement and wrath of God. One hundred and fifty years before the prophet Nahum received a message of Judgement  concerning them, God had given Jonah a message of destruction, of which they fasted and repented and the judgment was averted.
They had turn to their evil ways and was oppressing Israel, and God's impending punishment was an irreversible judgement. During this time, Nahum promised the people of God that the Lord is good and is a stronghold in the day of trouble.
The Lord God is the same  yesterday and today and forever more.  He will be a stronghold in the day of trouble, a refuge for those who trust Him, and a comfort for His people.
God is a God of justice and will protect and defend all who are oppressed and downtrodden.
His promises of hope and comfort are there for us to claim. To acknowledge that He is good and our stronghold in our difficult days of trials, adversities and oppression.
For all who love and obey God, He will be our Comforter and Protector, but he also chasten and corrects when we disobey Him.
Our God is of comfort, hope, joy, love and indeed is a jealous God.
But He will avenge evil, judge, pour out His wrath and destroys the wicked, who are against Him. Amidst all the judgment and destruction of the wicked, is the fact that God is good. He is a stronghold in the day of trouble, and knows those who trust in Him.
We live in a world amidst uncertainty and confusion, and the presence of evil is everywhere; men are so evil, corrupt and arrogant, with blatant disregard for God.
They seek to entrap God's people every day. But let us not forget that God is in control of the whole universe.
Let us not forget His mighty powers, His amazing love and protective care of us.
Let all who trust in God remember that, the Lord is good, and a stronghold in times of trouble and difficulties, that he knows  all those who have taken refuge in Him.
Let us rejoice knowing Christ won the victory at the Cross, that we too may be victorious in every area of our lives.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah' (Exodus 15:23). The Isralites were on a high after the Red Sea experience and their deliverance from slavery in Egypt and Pharaoh's army. The Lord led them this way become He wanted them to realise that He was their God, their Deliverer, and their Protector. The people  murmured against Moses and God, but the Lord showed them that He was still willing to guide and protect them and be their Healer, if they would look to Him. When they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters because they were bitter, so they murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink" (verse 24)? Sometimes  things happened to us in life, and we become very bitter and callous. It may be family issues; a friendship gone sour; conflicts; marriage broken down; sickness or even the death of a love one. But we need to guard against bitterness cree...

'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12). The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach   boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily an...
