'But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me' (Matthew 14:30).

Immediately after feeding thousands of people with five loaves and two small fishes, Jesus went up into a mountain to pray. He had commanded his disciples to go before him to the other side where he would join them later.
As Jesus was alone praying, the disciples were by now in the midst of the sea rowing against a strong wind.
Jesus then appeared, walking on the water towards the disciples.
At first they thought it was a spirit and called out in fear. Jesus identified Himself straight away that it was him, and they shouldn't be afraid.
Peter realising it was Jesus, wanted to do what Jesus was doing. He believed that as long as it  was Christ making it happen, it was possible to walk on water, and so he asked Jesus to bid him come.
Jesus did asked him to come. As Peter stepped over the boat his focus was on Jesus and for a short period he did walk on water. However, when he noticed the ferocity of the wind and the size of the waves, his enthusiastic faith turned into fear.
Peter took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink. He cried out to Jesus to save him, of which He did.
We may not have Peter's experience of walking of water, but how is our faith?
Many of us started out well, when we first accepted Jesus by grace through our faith in Him. But somewhere along the way, we lack faith or lost faith, as we took our eyes off Jesus, and begin to sink in the things of this world.
Let us keep looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. Let not fear replace our confidence in Christ and cause us to sink in despair, turmoil and troubles that come upon us.
We must believe that total confidence in the power of Jesus, will allow us to do anything; even to remove the mountains in our lives.
As human beings we have imperfect faith, but in Christ our faith can be perfect. Let us seek the Saviour who is able to save us to the utmost.
If you have little faith or doubt the power of   Christ, why not cry out to Him to save you from the boisterous wind and raging storms of life!?

Have a wonderful day

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
