'The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble' (Psalm 9:9).

The Scripture tells us that the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in  times of trouble (Psalm 37:39). Therefore, the Lord will help and deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they trusted in Him (Psalm 37:40).
There is a great war raging between Christ and Satan for our souls. Satan knows he has a short time and is working overtime to destroy God's people. But Christ has already won the victory, we just need to trust and obey Him, so we can be victorious. The success of evil is only temporary, but in the end the righteous will endure, because Christ is our righteous Judge and our Champion.
The Lord our Saviour is our stronghold, and all who are oppressed will find a safe and secure haven in Him.
There are many of God's people who are being oppressed - being abused by others who exercise control over them. God will defend them and be a refuge in times of trouble.
As Christians, we may find ourselves facing extreme adversity, as a result of us following Christ. When we trust the Lord and remain obedient unto him, we will surely find safety in Him. The Lord promised He will never leave or forsake us.  There are times when He will allow us to go through the fiery furnace, so as to, strengthen our faith or for His glory, but He is right by our side. Other times He will protect us from those fiery experiences. Let us remember that our God is bigger and more powerful  than our problems or situations. We, therefore, need not to worry or fret, but to hold on to Christ, who is our Solid Rock.
It behoves us to learn to trust in the Lord, in difficult times.
In the good times it seems easier to trust God that everything is working well, whilst in the difficult times, when our faith is tested, we sometimes find it hard to trust him. However, that's when we need him the most, so we ought to look to Christ for our help.
We are all oppressed by the burden of sin, and Satan trys to trample upon us, every opportunity he gets; to squeeze out the dear life out of us. But thank God for Jesus, who is and will be a refuge for us. All we need to do is simply trust Him. He is our refuge when all others fail, but we can trust Him at all times, because our salvation is in Him and he is our strength in times of trouble.

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
