'A friend loveth at all times but a brother is born for adversity'
(Proverbs 17:17).

A true friend loves at all times, in good circumstances and during difficult times and great hardships. Jesus shows us what it means to be a true friend and a loving brother in the expression of "a friend who is willing to give up his own life for a friend" - giving up his own desires and needs for his friend's.  A true friend never fails to be honest and sincere, correcting you in love and with sensitivity, because he loves and wants the best for you. A friend who loves at all times will give wise counsel and encouragement to enhance your spiritual growth; will have a genuine interest in your well being and will be there in times of adversity and prosperity. True friends will not leave you when there is a change in your condition and stay afar off from you. Christ was a friend to all men; he was a friend to His church to publican and sinners, calling them to repentance because He loved and wanted to save them. Christ the perfect friend and brother saved us from our sins through His death and resurrection so we could be part of the family of God. He, the Sovereign Lord came down from heaven and enter in our mess, as a faithful friend who love at all times, to save us for eternity. We ought to emulate Christ and be able to see each other and our relationships through the lens of Christ. By beholding Him we become changed! By His blood we are connected to our heavenly Father and become part of the family of God. In Christ we find a friend who loves us when we are unloveable, and a brother who willingly dies for us when we don't deserve it. Let us through the lens of Christ seek to be a true friend and a brother to each other. Let us put away gossip and not bear a grudge or give up on each other. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to work upon our hearts as we experience God's love for us, to be true friends and brothers and sisters born for adversity.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12). The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach   boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily an...

'And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah' (Exodus 15:23). The Isralites were on a high after the Red Sea experience and their deliverance from slavery in Egypt and Pharaoh's army. The Lord led them this way become He wanted them to realise that He was their God, their Deliverer, and their Protector. The people  murmured against Moses and God, but the Lord showed them that He was still willing to guide and protect them and be their Healer, if they would look to Him. When they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters because they were bitter, so they murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink" (verse 24)? Sometimes  things happened to us in life, and we become very bitter and callous. It may be family issues; a friendship gone sour; conflicts; marriage broken down; sickness or even the death of a love one. But we need to guard against bitterness cree...
