'He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk, even as he walked' (1 John 2:6).

When we say we abide in God, we will seek to obey His Word, and keep His commandments, because we truly love him. Therefore, if we we claim to abide in God we should live our lives as Jesus did. Jesus is in the Father, and the Father in him, because they are one. Jesus came to save us and to show us the love of the Father. As believers, the more we abide in Christ, the more Christ will abide in us and the more we ought to walk as He walked. And in so doing we will produce spiritual fruit. Whilst Christ was on earth, He demonstrated his love and care for all; especially the poor, the afflicted, widowed, the fatherless, the sick and the outcast of society. He demonstrated the love of God for all mankind! For every believer that are born of God, they must truly seek to demonstrate a Christ-like behaviour. We must refrain from loving  the world and the things of the world. We are to live, love and act like Christ. Christ lived in total dependence upon His Father and it behoves us to walk in total dependence upon Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Vine and we are the branches; except we abide in Him and he in us, we cannot bear fruit. He nourishes and strengthens us as we abide in him and enables us to do the things that are pleasing to God. Without us abiding in Christ, we are powerless to do anything that will bring honour and glory to God. Therefore, all who desire to be in Christ, to walk in His ways by faith, must first abide in Him. We must allow the Spirit of God to do His work in us, so abiding will take place. It is very important, in the Christian's journey to abide in Christ. It is only when we abide in Him; rest in His love; trust in His Word and look to Him in all things, that we can truly bear much fruit. Let us through the power of the Holy Spirit surrender our hearts and our will to God, by abiding in Christ, that we can walk as Jesus did.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
