'Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogance come out of my mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed' (1 Samuel 2:3).

God cannot be fooled! He sees and knows the heart of every man. As fallen beings we have a tendency to be proud and haughty, especially when we perceive ourselves better than others. But it is God who gives life and everything we possess,  and it is He who has the power to take it from us. The Lord knows all that we have done and will judge our actions accordingly. Our hearts and minds should be geared towards glorifying God and not self. He should ever be in our thoughts!  There is nothing we have that we  should boast about, except Christ and him crucified. We are like the grass that withered away and the flowers that faded. We are here today and tomorrow we may not be, so why boast? It is God who holds the future in his hands, and we are given the opportunity to be a part of that future. Hannah was relecting on the goodness of God in her life. How he had granted her the desire of her heart, to have a child after years of barrenness. She was giving thanks and praise to a Holy God, reflecting on his mercy, uniqueness and great wisdom, by proclaiming that, the Lord is a God of knowledge and by him our actions are weighed. God who is Omniscient, knows the thoughts of our minds and the secrets of our hearts. For those who are proud and arrogant, they have no place with God, but to the humble, he lifts up with his grace  and gives mercy to those who are meek and lowly. There is nothing hidden from God and he weighs every word that we uttered, whether they be good or bad. Let us strive not to boastful, proud or arrogant. But let our speech be seasoned with grace and truth as we glorify God. Let us daily lift our thoughts towards God, as we honour and glorify him, so that it we be pleasing and acceptable unto him. Remember He is a God of understanding and by him our actions are considered.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
